The Research-based Instruments of the Leading House for the Latin American Region aim to support research cooperation between Switzerland and Latin America through funding opportunities.
Currently, the Leading House offers three types of instruments:
Early Career Grant: for PhD and postdoctoral students enrolled in Swiss universities who want to conduct fieldwork in Latin America. The goal is to support the new generation of scientists to boost their studies with a research stay in Latin America and expand their international network.
Research Partnership Grant: for researchers in Switzerland and Latin America who want to develop new joint projects. The grant might cover organizing events, workshops, meetings, and other costs for preliminary research and exchange between the two teams.
Consolidation Grant: for researchers in Switzerland and Latin America who want to strengthen and advance their existing collaboration. It is beneficial as a bridge between small funding instruments and large schemes, such as the ones offered by the SNSF.
In common, all these grants foster Swiss-Latin American academic collaboration while incentivizing dissemination activities and social and environmental impact. Researchers from all disciplines are invited to apply. Learn more about our calls and share this information with everyone interested!
Those international collaboration calls are managed by our Head of Research-based instruments, Dr. Letícia Vargas.
