In the 2003/04 Winter Semester, we were the first university in Switzerland to start the Children’s University. At the time people asked where the funding was coming from.
Since that date, we have familiarised our youngest audience each year with our further education institution – regardless of whether they will go to university at a later date.
Explaining issues relevant to society
The aim is to teach children about issues relevant to children in society in addition to what they learn at school. In doing so, the focus is placed on issues drawn from HSG's core subjects, i.e. business, economics and law. Day-to-day situations and examples from the children’s environment are used. As a rule, the lectures are geared to primary school pupils of the third to sixth forms.
Children’s University certificate
Our Children’s University is free of charge, but children have to register. Each child receives a HSG Children’s University ID. Children who attende each event receive a certificate at the of the lecture series.
